Apple Prepares to Unveil iPhone 17 Lineup
By Aurax Desk | September 8, 2025
Apple is set to reveal its iPhone 17 series at the company’s annual September event on Monday, September 9, with pre-orders expected by September 12 and general availability beginning September 19.
The lineup will include four models: the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Air edition is designed to be significantly slimmer than previous iPhones, measuring around 5.5 millimeters thick, though early reports suggest this may come at the cost of a smaller battery and a single rear camera.
In a shift from recent design trends, Apple is expected to move away from titanium frames in its Pro models, returning to aluminum for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. This change is intended to reduce weight and improve thermal performance.
All devices are anticipated to feature 120 Hz ProMotion OLED displays, with the standard iPhone 17 offering a 6.3-inch screen. Storage for the Pro line may begin at 256 GB, doubling the previous entry-level capacity of 128 GB.
Significant upgrades are also expected in camera technology. The Pro models may introduce a 48 MP telephoto lens for improved zoom and sharper detail, while all models are likely to feature a 24 MP front camera capable of dual recording from front and rear lenses.
Performance improvements are projected across the range, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max tipped to include Apple’s largest battery to date at roughly 5,000 mAh. Combined with a new cooling system and up to 12 GB of RAM in the Pro models, the devices are positioned to deliver higher efficiency and sustained performance.
Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event will confirm final specifications, pricing, and additional product announcements, which may include updates to AirPods and other accessories.
