On May 17, 2025, a sizeable sailboat crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, causing noticeable damage to the bridge’s structure. The vessel involved is reported to be operated by the Mexican Navy. Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene to evaluate the damage and ensure public safety. Authorities temporarily restricted traffic on the bridge and waterways below as they conducted thorough inspections.  At least 17 person were reported injured  in connection with the incident. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the collision.
