Commissioner of Police Alister Guevarro has confirmed that Corporal Eversley was strangled inside the San Fernando Municipal Police Station, with 38 stolen firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition recovered as six suspects remain in custody.

Commissioner of Police Alister Guevarro has confirmed that Corporal Eversley was killed inside the San Fernando Municipal Police Station in a violent internal breach involving the theft of state firearms.
A post-mortem examination determined that the officer died by strangulation, along with blunt and sharp force injuries. Initial suspicions of a gunshot wound have been ruled out.
Six males, aged between 16 and 33, are currently in custody. Several other detainees have been released as investigations continue.
Police have recovered 38 firearms and 929 rounds of ammunition, including pistols, a submachine gun, a shotgun, and a revolver. However, a full audit of missing weapons is still underway.
The TTPS has launched internal reforms across municipal stations, focusing on strengthening firearm storage protocols and internal security systems.
Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage and conducting interviews to determine whether additional individuals were involved.
