Daryl Hall and John Oates met at Temple University in 1967, forming a duo that would become the most successful in U.S. chart history. Blending rock, soul, and pop, they produced six number-one hits, including "Rich Girl" and "Maneater." Their 1981 track "You Make My Dreams" achieved over a billion streams in 2020. Despite their success, the duo faced challenges, culminating in a legal dispute in 2023 that ended their partnership. Hall continues to perform solo, while Oates has returned to his folk roots.
