Antonio Brown Wanted on Attempted Murder Charges After Miami Shooting

MIAMI, FL — Antonio Brown, a former NFL wide receiver and Super Bowl winner, is currently wanted by Miami-Dade authorities on a warrant for attempted second-degree murder following a shooting incident that unfolded last month outside a celebrity boxing event in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood.

The incident, which reportedly occurred on May 16, 2025, followed a physical altercation in a parking lot near the venue where the match was taking place. According to reports, Brown allegedly fought with a group of individuals, took possession of a firearm from a nearby security guard, and fired two shots at a man identified in court documents as Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu. The victim sustained a minor neck wound and was treated at the scene.

Witness reports and surveillance footage reviewed by investigators supported the conclusion that Brown was involved in the incident. Nevertheless, when officers briefly detained him at the scene and interviewed him, no gun was recovered, and Brown insisted the incident was a case of self-defense. He was subsequently released, but a warrant for his arrest was later issued by a Miami-Dade County judge.

The warrant sets bond at $10,000 and specifies that, upon release, Brown should be placed under house arrest. The attempted murder charge carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted.
