The investigation, commissioned by TSTT’s board, will examine Cox’s approximately year-long tenure and contracts involving eight companies. Areas under review include procurement practices, corporate governance, conflicts of interest, possible fraud, sexual harassment allegations and claims of retaliation against individuals who raised concerns. A central issue is a proposed TT$49 million, three-year Digital First Call Centre Solution contract involving Hummingbird Holdings Ltd., which was reportedly shelved after concerns that it advanced without board approval.

TSTT said no final findings have been made against Cox and that he will have an opportunity to respond before the investigation reaches conclusions. The company has also reserved the right to refer evidence of possible fraud, corruption or other criminal wrongdoing to law-enforcement or regulatory authorities. Cox’s acting CEO contract ended on July 31, after which Reza Hosein was appointed to the role. Cox is contesting the decision through a pre-action protocol letter prepared by his legal team, which has described his departure as forced and raised separate concerns about governance and management decisions at TSTT.
