The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has launched an investigation into the circulation of a leaked audio recording that is believed to contain intercepted communications involving members of the security services. Commissioner of Police Allister Guevaro ordered the probe after the recording was widely shared on social media and messaging platforms, raising concerns about the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information. Authorities have not publicly confirmed the authenticity of the recording but say investigators will examine its origin and the circumstances surrounding its release.

According to the TTPS, the investigation will determine whether any criminal offences were committed in obtaining, possessing or distributing the recording. Detectives are also expected to assess whether the disclosure compromised ongoing investigations, operational security or the safety of law enforcement personnel. The matter is being treated as a priority, with police indicating they will work to establish the source of the leak and identify anyone who may have been involved in its dissemination.
