Co-hosts Canada kicked off their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium. The visiting European side took an early lead in the 21st minute when Jovo Lukic found the back of the net with a header. Canada continuous pressure paid off late in the second half when substitute Cyle Larin struck a volleyed equalizer in the 78th minute. The hard-fought tie earned the Canadian men's national team their first historical point in a World Cup tournament. Both nations will now prepare for their remaining Group B fixtures as the tournament progresses
