FIFA is investigating an alleged racist incident involving popular YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed during Argentina’s World Cup 2026 match against Cape Verde in Miami. The incident was captured during a livestream, with footage showing an interaction between the content creator and a supporter in the stands. FIFA condemned racism and discrimination and said such behaviour has no place in football.
The governing body has not announced any disciplinary action while the investigation continues. The incident has renewed discussions about fan behaviour and FIFA’s efforts to address discriminatory conduct during the tournament.
IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., attended the match as part of his World Cup coverage and has a large global following through his livestreams and football-related content. FIFA said it would review available evidence as part of its investigation before determining any next steps.
