The final round of group-stage matches continued on Matchday 16, with several teams securing places in the knockout stage and group standings decided across Groups G, H and I.
Spain booked top spot in Group H with a 1–0 victory over Uruguay, while Cape Verde advanced to the Round of 32 after drawing 0–0 with Saudi Arabia. In Group G, Belgium secured first place with a 5–1 win over New Zealand, and Egypt progressed after a 1–1 draw against Iran.
France finished first in Group I following a 4–1 win over Norway, although Norway also advanced as runners-up. Senegal strengthened its qualification hopes with a 5–0 victory over Iraq, keeping the race for the best third-placed spots alive as the tournament moves closer to the knockout phase.
