Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann has stepped down following the team’s elimination from the FIFA World Cup 2026, with the German Football Association confirming his departure after discussions.
Julian Nagelsmann has left his position as Germany’s national team coach after the side’s exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the Round of 32. The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed the departure following internal talks, with both sides agreeing to end his tenure after the tournament.
Nagelsmann, who took charge in 2023, had been under contract through the cycle but departs after Germany’s knockout-stage defeat in North America. The DFB has not yet announced a replacement.
