Andrew and Tristan Tate were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Miami on Saturday after British authorities requested their extradition in connection with criminal charges filed in the United Kingdom. U.S. officials said the arrest warrant was initially sealed, while Britain's Crown Prosecution Service later confirmed it was seeking the brothers' return to face allegations including rape, human trafficking for sexual exploitation and other offenses tied to alleged incidents between 2010 and 2017. Prosecutors said the case includes additional charges involving several alleged victims. The brothers, who hold both U.S. and British citizenship, have denied all allegations against them.

The arrests add another chapter to a series of legal proceedings involving the brothers in Europe and the United States. Andrew and Tristan Tate were first detained in Romania in late 2022 during an investigation into allegations including human trafficking and organized crime. Romanian prosecutors later filed charges, but court rulings citing procedural and legal irregularities prevented that case from moving immediately to trial, although investigations there have remained active. After Romanian authorities eased travel restrictions, the brothers relocated to Florida in 2025, where state officials also announced a separate criminal inquiry. The latest action in Miami relates to the British extradition request rather than the Romanian proceedings.
