The 98th Academy Awards took place on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, bringing together the biggest names in the film industry to celebrate the year’s finest achievements in cinema.
The ceremony was dominated by One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, which took home Best Picture and Best Director, among several other awards. The film ended the night with six Oscars, making it the most awarded movie of the evening.
Another major winner was Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, which earned four awards including Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan. His win was one of the most talked-about moments of the night.
Meanwhile, Jessie Buckley captured Best Actress for her performance in Hamnet, while Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for One Battle After Another. The Best Supporting Actress award went to Amy Madigan for her role in Weapons.
