Judge Orders Release of Epstein Grand Jury Files
By Aurax Desk December 9, 2025
On December 9, 2025, a federal judge in New York authorized the unsealing of grand jury documents tied to the criminal case against Ghislaine Maxwell. The decision was made in response to the recently enacted Epstein Files Transparency Act, which requires the Department of Justice to disclose investigative records related to Epstein’s activities. Although grand jury materials are typically kept sealed, the court determined that the new law applies to this case.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in facilitating the sexual abuse of minors by Jeffrey Epstein. The newly released materials include transcripts, exhibits, and other evidence previously shared with Maxwell’s defense team during her 2021 trial.
Jeffrey Epstein, a financier with connections to high-profile individuals including President Donald Trump, died by suicide in a Manhattan jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal charges related to child sex trafficking.
The release of these documents marks a significant development in ongoing efforts to uncover the full scope of Epstein’s network and the legal proceedings surrounding it. The Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed by Congress in November 2025, reflects growing public and legislative pressure to increase accountability in cases involving sexual exploitation and abuse.
