The Detroit Lions defeated the Baltimore Ravens 38–30 on Monday night, improving to 2–1 while Baltimore fell to 1–2. The Ravens entered the matchup coming off a Week 2 victory but were unable to keep pace with Detroit’s powerful ground attack.
David Montgomery carried the Lions with a career-best 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jahmyr Gibbs added 67 yards and two scores, while Jared Goff completed 20 of 28 passes for 202 yards, including a touchdown to Amon-Ra St. Brown, who finished with seven receptions for 77 yards. Detroit’s rushing total reached 224 yards, a decisive factor in the game.
Lamar Jackson led Baltimore with 288 passing yards and three touchdowns. Tight end Mark Andrews caught six passes for 91 yards and two scores, while Derrick Henry contributed a rushing touchdown. However, Henry’s fourth-quarter fumble proved costly, shifting momentum to Detroit.
The Lions’ defense registered seven sacks on Jackson and capitalized on Baltimore’s late mistakes. Following Henry’s turnover, Detroit converted a critical fourth down and extended its lead with Montgomery’s 31-yard touchdown run. The Ravens responded with a late score in the final seconds but failed to recover the onside kick.
The victory gave Detroit its second win of the season, highlighted by long scoring drives of 96 and 98 yards. Baltimore, now 1–2, showed strength in its passing game but continues to face challenges in protecting its quarterback.
